Police disperse protesters in Georgia
Special forces dispersed a tent camp with protesters against the results of the parliamentary elections in Tbilisi. There are casualties and detainees.

Opposition leaders called on protesters not to engage in conflicts with law enforcement officials. Water cannons and special equipment were spotted at the scene.

Today, a police cordon continues to stand on Melikishvili Avenue near the Tbilisi Philharmonic building, preventing opposition supporters from moving forward.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said she would file a lawsuit with the country's Constitutional Court over "massive violations of the secrecy of the vote" in the recent parliamentary elections.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell explained what the "technical mission" that the EU will send to Georgia means.

"We will assess what happened in connection with these elections, the fairness of which the president himself doubts. The election results have caused great concern in Europe due to the rollback. The situation must be studied and analyzed on the spot – this is the task of the EU technical mission,” Borrell noted.
