Georgia and Azerbaijan are striving to simplify border crossings: the parties plan to introduce a single-window system at joint border crossings.

The Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence, known as the Foreign Agents Law, initiated by the ruling party of Georgia, has already entered into force. The document was signed by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili after overcoming the presidential veto.
Under the new law, the Ministry of Justice and the country's national public registry agency are required to create a list of organizations that act "in foreign interests" within 60 days. Also, from August, all Georgian media and NGOs that receive more than 20% of their income from abroad must apply to register their organizations in the register through the House of Justice. Otherwise, they will be subject to fines.
“Only Georgia, its sovereignty and security benefited from the adoption of the “transparency law.” Accordingly, only the ill-wishers of our country were defeated by the adoption of this law. During these two months, there was a lot of misinformation about the law. There was an excess of emotions that had only an artificial basis,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
There are regular protests against the law on foreign agents in Georgia. It is called pro-Russian, repressive and curtailing rights and freedoms.
