224 people detained in Georgia over four days of protests
224 protesters against the authorities have been detained in Georgia over four days of protests, the country's Interior Ministry reported. Two more people are under investigation in criminal cases: one of them threw an incendiary mixture at the parliament building, and the second injured a police officer with pyrotechnics.

In addition, one of the opposition leaders, Zurab Japaridze, was detained during the protests in Tbilisi. According to the Interior Ministry, 113 law enforcement officers were injured over four days.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that among those detained were Russian citizens and a British citizen. According to the head of the Cabinet, these could be foreign instructors who organize violent groups to participate in the protests.

"This issue requires special attention: why did Russian rapists need such a group in Georgia, on whose orders did they arrive in Georgia, and what instructions did they give to the rapist groups. All this requires careful study," the Prime Minister concluded.

Let us recall that earlier Irakli Kobakhidze held a briefing during which he announced the freezing of negotiations on Georgia's accession to the EU until 2028. This caused a new wave of rallies in the country. Earlier, society protested due to the results of the parliamentary elections, which the opposition considers falsified in favor of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
