Georgia announced a “pragmatic policy” with the Russian Federation

The mode of relations between Georgia and the Russian Federation is a pragmatic policy that ensures peace for the republic and the solution of economic problems. This was stated by the head of the Georgian government, Irakli Kobakhidze.

“The tasks remain the same. You know what the relationship mode is. Within the framework of this regime, of course, we want to continue our pragmatic policy, the goal of which is to maintain peace in our country, and we have specific tasks that are related to economic activity,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The official answered a question from journalists about what tasks were assigned to the new Georgian special representative for relations with Russia - building economic and trade ties.

Note that the countries do not have direct diplomatic relations. Georgia refused to join the anti-Russian sanctions, but condemned the Russian Federation on international platforms due to the invasion of Ukraine.
