A shootout occurred in Magas after an attack on a former criminal investigation officer. The incident occurred on Gagiyev Street.
A group of men attacked a 41-year-old former police officer. Video from the scene shows that the attackers knocked him to the ground, after which others joined them. During the conflict, the former police officer took out a traumatic pistol and opened fire, in response, one of the attackers also opened fire. Presumably, the cause of the conflict was the criminal prosecution of one of the attackers, who accused the security officer of unlawful actions.
Earlier, Ingushetia became one of the leaders in the growth of the number of street crimes. From January to July 2025, the number of street crimes increased by 6.8%, according to data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
