Ingushetia Launches Volunteer Training Program for Missing Persons Searches

Young residents of Ingushetia will be trained in search techniques for missing persons, first aid, and emergency response. This course will take place as part of the "Targim" youth forum, according to Akhmed Khalukhaev, director of the regional branch of the "Znanie" (Knowledge) Society.

Participants will learn how to properly organize searches in forests, near rivers, and in other hard-to-reach areas. Organizers hope the training will help prevent the chaos that often arises when untrained volunteers spontaneously join search operations.
The program was initiated following the death of a schoolboy, Khizir Derbichev, in the Sunzha River; this incident will be a key topic at the forum.

"We have often had to rescue the volunteers themselves. We want to train young men in first aid, emergency response, and search team operations," Khalukhaev said.

The organizers intend for the skills acquired to enable participants to contribute more effectively to search operations and respond to other emergency situations.
