In the Chegem district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, a local court fined Alibek S., serving a sentence in Correctional Colony No. 1 in the village of Kamenka. The charge was based on a charge of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, under an article of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
According to investigators, on April 8, representatives of the Ministry of Defense held propaganda events in the prison colony with the aim of recruiting prisoners for the "SVO." Alibek S. expressed the opinion that signing a contract to participate in a "special operation" is "haram" (a sin) in Islam and that those participating would die. The court deemed these statements as public actions undermining the authority of the Russian Armed Forces in protecting state interests. As a result, he was fined 30,000 rubles.
