The Defense Ministry's "talking head"—the deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, also the commander of one of the "Akhmat" formations—has been promoting the idea of a global, joint confrontation between Russian Muslims and Christians against "Satanism" since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He regularly finds himself in various scrapes: with the Zetniks, with nationalists, and with Orthodox priests. And the more he tries to "cross a snake and a hedgehog" with his obvious desire to be "one of the guys," the more harshly he is criticized from all sides.
In Karachay-Cherkessia, security forces are looking for five men suspected of murdering two policemen. 26-year-old Ruslan Elkanov, 29-year-old Kazbek Dzhazaev, 34-year-old Vladimir Averyanov, 35-year-old Ruslan Semenov and 25-year-old Akhmat Elkanov have been put on the wanted list.
Averyanov and Semenov were part of the Karachay terrorist cell of Biaslan Gochiyaev, which organized explosions and executions at the turn of the 2000s and 1900s.
The attack occurred late in the evening of April 21 in the Nizhny Rynok area in Karachaevsk. Unknown people shot the security forces and stole their service weapons.
The regional department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under articles of encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer, illegal carrying and storage of weapons and ammunition.
