The film "The Letter," about the deportation of the Ingush people, has been banned in Ingushetia. The republic's Ministry of Culture has refused to hold the premiere of Amur Amerkhanov's film, despite it having received a federal grant and having been shown in other regions.
In Karachay-Cherkessia, two policemen were killed and four more were injured. An armed attack on a traffic police squad occurred at night. Five attackers were killed, the local Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
On the night of April 29, unknown persons drove a VAZ-2109 to a police post near the village of Mara Ayagy, 60 km south of Cherkessk. They threw an explosive device and started shooting from machine guns. The police returned fire and a bomb went off on one of the attackers.
Two police officers died on the spot, four were injured and were taken to hospital.

The suspects are 26-year-old Ruslan Elkanov, 29-year-old Kazbek Dzhazaev, 34-year-old Vladimir Averyanov, 35-year-old Ruslan Semenov and 25-year-old Akhmat Elkanov.
