In Makhachkala, over 300 people have been evacuated from flooded homes due to natural disasters

In Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, relief efforts continue following flooding caused by heavy rains and flash floods. According to Mayor Dzhambulat Salavov, a total of 320 people have been evacuated from flooded areas. Of these, 129 residents remain in five temporary accommodation centers and hotels, while the rest have found shelter with relatives.

Six city streets remain flooded. Damage to homes, appliances, furniture, and cars was previously reported. Residents also experienced problems with electricity, water, and transportation, as well as difficulties contacting emergency services.
As a result of rain and strong winds, major power outages occurred in Dagestan, leaving more than 327,000 people in 283 settlements without power. A state of high alert has been declared in the region, and a state of emergency has been declared in Makhachkala.
