The European Commission is actively developing measures to strengthen trade ties with Armenia in response to economic sanctions imposed by Russia. Specifically, special trade initiatives are being developed to reduce duties on Armenian food and agricultural exports.
The world will celebrate Turkic Languages Day
Tomorrow, December 15, 2025, the global community will celebrate World Day of Turkic Languages for the first time. This decision was made at the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand this November. The date was chosen for a reason: on December 15, 1983, Danish linguist Wilhelm Thomsen announced the decipherment of the Orkhon inscriptions, an important example of ancient Turkic writing.
The establishment of World Day of Turkic Languages was initiated by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, and received support from 21 other countries. The holiday aims to strengthen cooperation between countries in language research, education, and cultural exchange, as well as promote cultural dialogue and mutual understanding.
