Moscow expresses concerns about NATO exercises involving Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan

NATO continues its course of drawing the republics of the South Caucasus into its orbit of influence. This is how the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the alliance's exercises in Georgia involving 17 countries, including Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"No one should have any illusions, if any. Any actions by the North Atlantic Alliance in the South Caucasus are not aimed at strengthening security, but at creating a zone of instability and military-political tension there. Russia hopes that the countries of the South Caucasus will take a critical approach to joint exercises with NATO," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova.

According to her, NATO's goal is to use the potential and resources of the countries of the region in the interests of the collective West, especially in terms of the geopolitical confrontation with Russia.
