Georgia's ruling party has initiated amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations and the Code of Administrative Offenses, the discussion and adoption of which will proceed expeditiously. According to the bill, organizers of events at "places where people move" will be required to notify state authorities in advance.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the new Constitution of Armenia should not contain a reference to the Declaration of Independence. At the same time, he noted that this issue should be decided by the people of the country.
The Declaration of Independence speaks of the need to reunite Armenia with the Azerbaijani territories in Karabakh. Baku demands that Yerevan exclude such territorial claims from the Constitution in order to conclude a peace treaty. Pashinyan intends to hold a referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution in 2027, and possibly earlier - in parallel with the parliamentary elections in 2026.
The day before, the Prime Minister of Armenia, speaking in parliament, said that there will be no war with Azerbaijan.
“There is no reason for war. The peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan deserve peace. And we should not make statements that could jeopardize the peace agenda,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, Armenia is ready to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan and dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group.
