In the Russian Federation, the Crimean Tatar citizen of Ukraine was suspected of espionage

Crimean Tatar citizen Lia Umerova became a suspect in a case of espionage. The Russian security forces brought a girl from Vladikavkaz to the Moscow detention facility of Lefortovo.

In December 2022, Lia Umerova tried to drive from Kiev to the Crimea to his sick father. Given the political situation, it has transited through a number of European countries. When entering Russia, she had to pass a checkpoint in North Ossetia. After crossing the border with Russia, she was detained, made a report on the violation of the rules of crossing the border and sent to the Temporary Detention Center for Foreigners in Vladikavkaz.

In March, the court ruled that Umerova was not a danger to Russia, she was released, but almost immediately she was detained again and made a report on disobedience to the police. The girl was arrested for 15 days and then drafted three similar reports, each time she served 15 days of administrative detention. The latter was due to expire on 12 May.
