On May 28, around midnight, an explosion thundered on Chekhov Street near house 85/19 in Stavropol. Several cars parked nearby were damaged. As a result of the incident, two men died. One of them was veteran of the SVO Zaur Gurtsiev, a participant of the Time of Heroes program, appointed a civil servant. He led the air part of the operation to occupy Mariupol.
According to Governor Vladimir Vladimirov, all versions of the incident are being considered, including a terrorist attack from the Ukrainian side. A criminal case has been opened under the articles on murder in a generally dangerous manner and illegal storage of explosives.
