Georgia's ruling party has initiated amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations and the Code of Administrative Offenses, the discussion and adoption of which will proceed expeditiously. According to the bill, organizers of events at "places where people move" will be required to notify state authorities in advance.
Chief Adviser to Turkish President Cagri Erhan reminded that territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Turkey are preserved in the Armenian Constitution. According to him, this hinders the process of normalizing relations and signing a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
He also stressed that there are ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey that are much deeper than those between any other countries.
"Armenia should no longer resist and make claims to lands to which it has no right. Armenia must understand that the South Caucasus is an important region through which energy and trade routes pass. In order to take advantage of these advantages, Armenia should not make territorial claims against neighboring states," Erhan said.
He also said that the pro-Armenian position of some Western countries, especially France, hinders efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
