Volodymyr Zelensky drew an analogy between the wars in Ukraine and Chechnya
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a long interview to the American podcaster of Ukrainian origin Lex Friedman. Commenting on Vladimir Putin's policy in Ukraine, Zelensky cited the war in Chechnya as an example. He metaphorically noted that the President of Russia was destroying Chechens "with love" - "suffocating in his arms."

"Chechens, who? Another nation. The second faith. Other people. Another language. A million people were destroyed. And how did Putin destroy them? How did he kill them? With love? I think, in arms, so to speak. He suffocated in his arms, as they say in our country," Zelensky said.

As for the situation in Ukraine, the head of state said that it is necessary "not to talk", but to end the war", and if in the format of a dialogue, then it is necessary to be in a strong position - "so that the one who is opposite you wants this". Putin, according to Zelensky, does not want to end the war and believes in it - naively. The President of Ukraine also spoke positively about the strong potential of Donald Trump in his ability to force Putin to stop the war.
