Georgian authorities refuse to remove article on integration into NATO and EU from Constitution

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the country's authorities do not intend to remove or amend the article of the Constitution expressing the country's desire for membership in the European Union and NATO.

Earlier, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia is closer to joining the EU than Moldova and Ukraine. At the same time, the head of the Georgian Cabinet noted that the likelihood of this is low as long as the conflict in Ukraine continues.

A little earlier, the Georgian Prime Minister made a statement about the United States. Tbilisi stated that it is extremely disappointed with the current relations with Washington. The American authorities, Kobakhidze believes, are not showing initiative in restoring bilateral relations between the countries.
