Georgian authorities threaten the president with radical measures if she does not resign
Salome Zurabishvili will have to leave the presidential palace, otherwise "thousands of angry citizens will come there and demand that she do so." The authorities do not rule out radical measures. This was stated by the vice-speaker of parliament Nino Tsilosani.

Earlier, Salome Zurabishvili said that she would not resign until repeat parliamentary elections are held, since the past ones were falsified. The Central Election Commission of Georgia officially registered Mikheil Kavelashvili as a presidential candidate from the ruling Georgian Dream party. The opposition refuses to participate in the elections and present its candidate. The presidential elections are scheduled for December 14.

Salome Zurabishvili criticized the meeting of EU Ambassador Pavel Gerchinsky with the MP from the ruling party Maka Bochorishvili.

“I started by vehemently protesting the outrageous handshake between the EU ambassador and the de facto foreign minister,” President H. wrote on social media.

Gerchinsky himself said that Zurabishvili’s efforts to protect Georgia’s democratic and European aspirations are crucial and that the EU will consider additional restrictive measures against Georgian Dream.
