The Russian authorities accused Armenia of “collapse of relations”

The Armenian leadership, under far-fetched pretexts, distorting the history of the last three years, is deliberately leading to the collapse of relations with the Russian Federation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Izvestia. According to him, Yerevan’s course is manifested in the defamation of Russian military personnel who serve at the 102nd military base in Gyumri, border guards, as well as the CSTO as a whole.

“In Yerevan they do not mention that it was the CSTO that repeatedly defended the interests of Armenia in difficult situations and was ready to send its peacekeeping mission to the country in 2021. At the same time, the European observation mission in Armenia is turning into a NATO mission,” Lavrov said.

Let us remind you that Armenia has suspended any of its participation in the pro-Russian military-political bloc CSTO. In addition, she demanded the removal of Russian border guards from Yerevan airport and advocated possible EU candidate status.
