The Nalchik Garrison Military Court found serviceman Akromat Bersanov-Tsaroyev guilty of leaving his unit without leave (Part 5, Article 337 of the Russian Criminal Code). He was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

A criminal case was opened in the Russian Federation under Part 2 of Art. 205.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a terrorist community) against a native of Chechnya, 25-year-old Fathi Barayev. In July 2023, he took part in a raid in the Belgorod region, during which the Ural with Russian military personnel was destroyed.
Russian law enforcement officers believe that on July 15, 2023, Barayev attacked a Ural with Russian military personnel in the area of the Belgorod village of Sereda with an RPG. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense then published a video of the attack on the Russian military under the heading “Chechen soldiers continue to fight the Russian occupiers.” As a result of the raid, several military personnel were killed.
Previously, Barayev stated in an interview with The Insider: “I came to Ukraine for two reasons: to avenge my people and to help the Ukrainians. Russia occupied my entire country - Chechnya - and killed a lot of people from my family: father, brothers, aunt, uncle. I perceive Russians not only as enemies of Ukrainians and Chechens, but also as enemies of all humanity. They will take whatever they want and will never stop..."
