Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.
Prisoner native of Ingushetia will receive medical assistance after torture

After a long time, human rights activists cooperating with the "Public Verdict" fund managed to get medical assistance to a native of Ingushetia, Abdul-Malik Albagachiev. He was kept under torture conditions in colony No. 10 of Astrakhan.
Albagachiev was prescribed treatment for epilepsy, which developed after torture. In addition, he will undergo surgery to remove the iron plate in his collarbone. The lawyers also challenge the placement of a prisoner in a cell-type room and in a punishment cell for maximum periods.
Albagachiev was convicted in 2018. He was charged with participation in an illegal armed group in Syria. A confession of guilt was beaten out by torture, as the Public Verdict notes. However, the man pleaded not guilty.
