Zarema Musayeva was hospitalized from the pre-trial detention center

Zarema Musaeva, who has been under arrest in Grozny for more than 16 months, was taken to the hospital. This was reported by the “Team Against Torture”.

Lawyers have long been concerned about the woman's health due to the aggravation of chronic diseases, including diabetes. Zarema hardly steps on her feet and climbs the stairs, and periodically loses consciousness.

On May 12, a court in Grozny rejected Musayeva's request for an examination of her state of health, arguing that it "does not raise any doubts." Her arrest was extended until August 12. Earlier, the lawyers of the “Team Against Torture” confirmed the falsification of evidence.

Recall that Zarema Musaeva was abducted in Nizhny Novgorod in January 2022, and then taken to Chechnya. She is accused of violence against a representative of the authorities, dangerous to life and health. According to investigators, when she was brought to Grozny, the woman scratched the face of a police officer. Human rights activists claim that she is being held hostage because of her sons who are involved in opposition activities. The woman's husband and daughter were forced to emigrate from the Russian Federation.
