Zarema Musayeva could be sentenced to five and a half years in prison

Debate on the case of Zarema Musayeva began in the Grozny court. The prosecutor's office asked to sentence the woman to 5.5 years in prison. This was reported by the “Team Against Torture”.

Recall that Zarema Musaeva was abducted in Nizhny Novgorod in January 2022, and then taken to Chechnya. Despite health problems, she is being held in a pre-trial detention center on charges of violence against a representative of the authorities, which is dangerous to life and health. According to investigators, when delivered, she scratched the face of a police officer. Examinations refuted these allegations.

Musayeva suffers from type 2 diabetes and a number of concomitant diseases that require constant medical supervision. Recently, a deterioration in her health has been recorded: acute hypertensive crises are periodically accompanied by loss of consciousness. The woman is actually being held hostage for the opposition activities of her sons, as reported by one of them, Abubakar Yangulbaev.
