Zarema Musayeva was placed in a pre-trial detention center on the same day after a medical examination

The hospitalization of Zarema Musayeva turned out to be an examination - the woman was immediately returned to the Grozny pre-trial detention center. Despite the critical state of health, she is denied inpatient treatment. This was reported by the “Team Against Torture”.

In early June, Zarema was examined at the republican hospital named after. Ependiev and returned under arrest on the same day. The results confirmed a significant worsening of the symptoms of diseases, one of which is insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes. During the year and four months of imprisonment, the dose of insulin was doubled, but even on an empty stomach, blood sugar levels are twice the norm.

At the moment, the woman has almost completely lost sensation in her feet, two toes of her left foot turned blue, which indicates the death of nerve endings. She told her lawyer that she was suffering from leg edema, which caused the skin and blood vessels on her feet to burst. In addition, Zarema spoke about the incessant pain in her left arm.

Earlier, the Akhmatovsky District Court of Grozny considered that "the state of Zarema's health is beyond doubt." At the same time, the medical examination necessary for hospitalization was denied.

Recall that Zarema Musaeva was abducted in Nizhny Novgorod in January 2022, and then taken to Chechnya. Despite health problems, she is being held in a pre-trial detention center on charges of violence against a representative of the authorities, which is dangerous to life and health. According to investigators, when delivered, she scratched the face of a police officer. Examinations have refuted these accusations.
