The process of withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh has been completed

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported on the complete withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020, after the end of the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, a 2,000-strong military contingent of the Russian Federation was stationed in Karabakh, the duration of which was determined for 5 years (until 2025).

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the departure of Russian peacekeepers from the Tavush region of the country and the imminent departure of Russian border guards from Yerevan airport. Armenia has repeatedly pointed out the inability of Russian troops to provide support. As a result, Yerevan began to move away from Moscow and actually stopped military-political cooperation with it. Armenian officials have repeatedly named European countries and the United States as priority partners and allies.

In fact, Russian troops have left the South Caucasus, except for the remaining small military base in Armenian Gyumri.
