An Adygea resident was sentenced to 11 years for participating in the "United Circassia Council"

The Southern District Military Court convicted Ibragim Nagoyev, a resident of Adygea. He was found guilty of involvement in an extremist group and sentenced to 11 years in prison. He was charged with disseminating separatist ideas with the goal of establishing a sovereign state within the Russian Federation.

According to the case file, Nagoyev acted as an administrator of an online resource belonging to a foreign non-governmental organization designated as terrorist in Russia. He moderated the organization's Telegram channel, publishing materials allegedly aimed at inciting the Adyghe population in Russian regions to unauthorized rallies and disseminating separatist views.

According to a press release from the Southern District Court, Nagoyev was a member of the "United Circassia Council," which is listed as a terrorist organization. It was also noted that he published a call for a memorial event for the victims of the Caucasian War in Maykop, in which he subsequently took part.
