Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

This week, the fifth President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will meet with representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Baltic countries. The talks will take place in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.
In addition, according to Georgian media, Zurabishvili will speak at a plenary session of the Seimas of Lithuania and give a series of interviews to international media.
Recall that Salome Zurabishvili, although she left the residence before the inauguration of Mikheil Kavelashvili, still considers herself the only legitimate representative of the authorities in the country. She, like the opposition, as well as thousands of protesting citizens, do not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections held on October 26, and therefore the legitimacy of the ruling Georgian Dream party, the new government and the president appointed by it.
Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia are expressing a tough stance towards the ruling Georgian Dream party. In early March, all three Baltic countries expanded sanctions against the Georgian authorities, declaring several dozen officials and judges personae non gratae.
