Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that anti-LGBT laws have been in effect in Russia for three years, prohibiting any propaganda of LGBT rights, pedophilia, and gender reassignment. He also noted that, according to the amendment to the country's Constitution, "marriage is a union between a man and a woman," emphasizing that this is the choice of Russian citizens.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili delivered an annual report to the country's parliament. According to her, Russia continues to wage a hybrid war against Georgia, using new formats.
“Russia’s plan to transform the Ochamchira port in Abkhazia into a military base aims to transfer the confrontation to the Black Sea, to our territorial waters. Mobilization was also announced in the occupied territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” Zurabishvili said. At the same time, according to her, Russia was unable to break Ukraine and undermine the unity and solidarity of Europe.
Addressing the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Zurabishvili noted that he is associated with anti-European rhetoric and promoting the interests of the Russian Federation in Georgia. The president also addressed the honorary chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. In her opinion, it is he who really governs the country and forms the authorities. Zurabishvili accused him of unwillingness to transition to a democratic, European model of Georgia.
