The detention conditions of Azerbaijani opposition figure and leader of the Popular Front Party (PFPA), Ali Karimli, have been significantly tightened. The politician told his family that the wave of repressive measures began after his interview with France 24. He was subsequently transferred to another facility.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced Arslan Taushev, a native of Chechnya, and Rasul Koshmanbetov, a native of Dagestan, to 23 and 24 years in a maximum-security penal colony, respectively. Both men were found guilty of participating in an attack on Pskov paratroopers during the Second Russo-Chechen War in 2000.

The Moscow Garrison Military Court has arrested Visam Ali Bardvil, a member of the Ulema Council of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and imam of the South Butovo mosque. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
