Abdulmumin Hajiyev extended his arrest for another three months

The Southern District Military Court satisfied the demands of the prosecution to extend the arrest for another three months to the journalist of the Dagestan newspaper Chernovik Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, as well as Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev. They are tried under articles on "participation in the activities of terrorist organizations" and "organization of the financing of terrorism."

Earlier, the prosecutor's office requested 19 years in prison for each of the defendants. According to investigators, in his publications, Hajiyev focused on national and religious contradictions, thereby trying to influence the minds of people in order to involve them in participating in the activities of a terrorist organization.

During the proceedings, three linguistic examinations were made. The experts did not find anything illegal in the journalist's articles. They did not find propaganda of extremism or terrorism, but they did reveal propaganda of education, development and modern technologies.

Hajiyev and the other defendants have been under arrest since 2019.
