Alla Pugacheva called Dzhokhar Dudayev an intelligent person and apologized to his widow

Singer Alla Pugacheva gave her first detailed interview since the start of the "special military operation" in Ukraine and her departure from Russia.

In an interview for the channel "Skazy Gordeeva" the singer touched on the topic of the first Russian-Chechen war. Pugacheva spoke about her acquaintance with the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Dzhokhar Dudayev, describing him as a "decent, decent, intelligent" person. She expressed regret that she was unable to help him and his wife, Alla Fedorovna Dudayeva, during the war.

"I am even ashamed to say hello to her. Alla Fedorovna, if you suddenly see this interview, I apologize for not being able to do anything to keep Dzhokhar alive, to help you in any way," Pugacheva said.

Let us recall that on the basis of the decree of Russian President Boris Yeltsin, on December 11, 1994, Russian troops entered the territory of Chechnya. Thus began the first Russian-Chechen war. From the very beginning, Dudayev was hunted by the Russian special services. Three attempts on his life failed.

On April 21, 1996, on the outskirts of the village of Gekhi-Chu in the Urus-Martan district, Dudayev was killed by a Russian missile. Memorial plaques in his honor were unveiled in many countries. Among them are Estonia, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Turkey.
