Ingush blogger reports police violence in North Ossetia

Ingush blogger Ruslan Dolgiev reported the unlawful use of force by a police officer during his arrest at the Ezmi-Most checkpoint in North Ossetia. According to Dolgiev, the police officer hit him several times without reason, after which other law enforcement officers threw him to the ground, damaging his helmet and clothes.

Dolgiyev was charged with disobeying the lawful demands of a police officer, and he spent more than a day in a special detention center in Vladikavkaz. The Ministry of Nationalities of Ingushetia stated that the information about the arrest was not true, although they acknowledged that "the details of the incident are being established." At the same time, the department called for refraining from statements that could provoke interethnic tensions.

Dolgiyev himself emphasized the lack of ethnic overtones in the incident, linking it to the professional qualities of a specific police officer. The blogger asked not to give in to provocations and not to contribute to the incitement of ethnic hatred. The actions of the security officer, Dolgiev noted, will be qualified by officials authorized to do so.
