The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
On September 15, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that during the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region, 388 settlements were liberated.
The United States has imposed sanctions against the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, because of the war in Ukraine. The sanctions list also includes Kadyrov's three daughters and three women identified as his wives.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited Kyiv and discussed with Vladimir Zelensky financial and other EU assistance to Ukraine. The European Parliament has approved a proposal to pay Ukraine the second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 5 billion euros. The total volume of this type of assistance from the EU will be 9 billion euros. On the same day, Ukraine received the first half a billion euros of a 1.5 billion euro aid package from the European Investment Bank. In addition, the G7 countries agreed to defer until the end of next year payments on Ukrainian state and government-guaranteed debts amounting to more than $3 billion.
