One of Georgia's leading politicians transferred his funds from Europe to the UAE
Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party Kakha Kaladze transferred a significant portion of his money from European banks to accounts in the UAE. This was reported by the opposition channel Formula TV. According to the channel, part of the funds were transferred into cryptocurrency through specialized companies operating in Dubai.

Earlier, Kakha Kaladze stated that European and American banks are unreliable and that he no longer keeps money in foreign banks. A few days ago, the Formula TV channel reported, citing its own sources, that Kakha Kaladze was included in the US sanctions list. Recall that the US State Department imposed sanctions on more than 60 members of the Georgian government and parliament, including their family members, for "violating democracy."

In addition, on October 2, the Georgian opposition TV channel Formula reported that the United States had restricted access to the bank accounts of the children of the founder of the Georgian Dream, Ivanishvili, living abroad. However, the US Embassy denied this information.

The day before, Kaladze criticized the EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky.

"The statements we hear are an attempt by the ambassador to directly interfere in Georgia's election campaign. And here we must call on all international monitoring organizations to inform the whole world how the EU Ambassador and other embassies are behaving," Kaladze said.

Earlier, Pavel Gerchinsky called the election banners of the ruling Georgian Dream "outrageous, shameful and monstrous," consisting of two parts: photos of buildings in Ukraine destroyed by bombing with the inscription "No to war" and a photo of Georgian infrastructure with the words "Choose peace."
