Chechen activists Abubakar Yangulbaev and Said Dzhumaev joined a rally in support of Mansur Movlaev and Yulia Emelyanova, held as part of the "Russie-Libertés" forum in Paris. Forum participants spoke out against their potential extradition from Kazakhstan to Russia.
Armenian authorities may be preparing to extradite the Azerbaijani serviceman who infiltrated the country and ended up inside an Armenian family's home. Narek Karapetyan, head of the "Strong Armenia" parliamentary faction, stated this on October 6.
According to him, the individual who opened fire on civilians should face punishment in Armenia. Karapetyan asserted that such individuals should remain in custody rather than being handed over to the other side.
The opposition MP criticized the authorities' actions following reports of the serviceman's infiltration into an Armenian village. He emphasized that residents were not warned about the incident and that no comprehensive search operations were conducted.
"What steps did the authorities take to locate him? Why did an Armenian woman have to encounter an Azerbaijani soldier in her own home? It would be even worse if they had been warned about the Azerbaijani soldier's infiltration yet the authorities took no action. They are turning a blind eye to everything," he said indignantly.
Karapetyan believes that instead of addressing the issue, the authorities are diverting public attention to other events, including conflicts between MPs in parliament.
"Yet the problem remains: a single Azerbaijani arrived, and the state failed to resolve the situation even with that one individual. How will they handle the issue of thousands of Azerbaijanis, given that anti-Armenian propaganda in Azerbaijan begins as early as kindergarten and school? Azerbaijanis also promised to put Ramil Safarov—who hacked an Armenian officer to death with an axe—on trial, yet they turned him into a hero. The Armenian people know that Azerbaijanis who harm Armenians are hailed as heroes back home." "Furthermore, there was an Azerbaijani individual who traveled the world boasting about killing Armenians, yet Armenia’s National Security Service has still not taken action against him. They infiltrate Armenia knowing they will be extradited and hailed as heroes in Azerbaijan after harming Armenians," the faction leader noted.
The MP also highlighted the situation in the Syunik region, describing it as a critical area for detecting and identifying such incursions.
"The authorities oversee a massive state apparatus that receives bonuses yet fails to resolve security issues—leaving the job to dogs?" Narek Karapetyan asked.
Meanwhile, Armenia’s National Security Service denied reports regarding the possible infiltration of other Azerbaijani military personnel or a sabotage group into the country. According to the agency, only Nasimi Musayev crossed the border illegally; he is currently in custody. The security service dismissed reports of an ongoing search for other military personnel as untrue.
Musayev entered the village of Shaki in the Syunik region on October 1. According to the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office, he opened fire after entering the home of a local family. A 39-year-old woman was wounded in the incident, and her 15-year-old son suffered a broken arm.
