Chechnya's Olympic medalists who competed for other countries were presented with apartments

The Chechen authorities presented apartments to natives of the republic, the winner and bronze medalist of the Paris Olympics Razambek Zhamalov and Islam Dudayev. The former competed for the national team of Uzbekistan, the latter for Albania.

The 18-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the region Akhmat Kadyrov personally participated in the award ceremony. He shook the athletes' hands, hugged them, congratulated them and wished them further success in sports. Kadyrov Jr. presented both Zhamalov and Dudayev with keys to apartments, and the winner of the Games with an additional 10 million rubles. Such gifts for the honored guests were prepared by the foundation named after the first president of Chechnya.

"Many years of persistent training and discipline allowed them to achieve such high results. "Among the Chechen freestyle wrestlers, Razambek Zhamalov is the fifth Olympic champion," Akhmat Kadyrov noted.

In addition, the mayor of Derbent in Dagestan, Akhmed Kuliev, gave an apartment to a native of the city, Dauren Kurugliev, who competed for the Greek team. In response to criticism from State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, it was said that Kurugliev had not made any statements against his homeland and there was no official decision to renounce his fellow countrymen.
