Adygea, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia are leaders in the scale of teacher dismissal

In Russia in 2023, the maximum number of teachers quit since 2017—193 thousand. These are the data of the Ministry of Education. The worst situation is in the Astrakhan region, Adygea, Leningrad region, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia.

In these regions, the growth rate of layoffs exceeds the federal level. There, 80–90% more teachers left schools than in 2017. Primary school teachers are the most likely to be fired.

The 193 thousand figures do not include school leaders and support staff (secretaries or librarians).
