The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
Two regions of the North Caucasus Federal District are in the TOP-10 for road quality in Russia
Ingushetia and Dagestan are among the top ten regions of Russia with the best road quality. According to the RIA Novosti rating, in which 54.8% of roads in the Russian Federation comply with standards, Ingushetia took 4th place (83.6%), and Dagestan - 9th (74.3%).
Stavropol Krai is in 17th place (67.1%), Kabardino-Balkaria - in 25th (62.6%), Chechnya - in 44th (54%), Karachay-Cherkessia and North Ossetia - in 60th and 61st (45.7%).
Moscow, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and Chelyabinsk Oblast are in the lead. The fewest roads that meet regulatory requirements are in Arkhangelsk, Kirov and Volgograd Oblasts.
