Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan Strengthens Peace in the South Caucasus and Eurasia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that his country is promoting peace both in the South Caucasus and throughout Eurasia.

Addressing the international conference "Regional Contribution to Global Security: Peacebuilding in the South Caucasus," held in Shusha, the Azerbaijani president emphasized Baku's commitment to ensuring regional stability.

According to him, Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity and regained control over the territories of Karabakh through its own efforts.

"The lands that had been oppressed for many years were liberated as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020 and the anti-terrorist operation conducted in 2023. The country's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been fully restored. "Thus, the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, which had remained unimplemented for nearly 30 years, was ensured by Azerbaijan itself," Aliyev stated.

According to the president, the joint declaration on peaceful relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, signed in Washington last year under the mediation of the US president, "completely changed the situation in the South Caucasus."

"Azerbaijan is making efforts to transform not only the region but Eurasia as a whole into a reliable space for cooperation," Aliyev stated, presenting Baku as a key guarantor of regional stability.
