Inflation in the North Caucasus Federal District continued to grow

In July, annual inflation accelerated in all regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. The strongest is in North Ossetia (by 1.5%–4.3% per annum). It is reported by Rosstat.

The lowest inflation rate in the North Caucasus was noted in Dagestan (3.6%). This is due to the high self-sufficiency of the region in fruit and vegetable and dairy products.

Annual inflation in Karachay-Cherkessia increased in July and amounted to 4.6% after 3.4% in June. In Chechnya, it accelerated to 4.4% after 3.22% in the previous month. In Ingushetia, the figure in July was 5.8% after 5.26% in June.

In general, inflation in the North Caucasus Federal District in July 2023 increased to 4.8% after 3.84% in June. The main growth factor was the weakening of the ruble.

Price growth in Russia also continued, reaching 4.3% (3.25% a month earlier).
