The leaders of Russia and Armenia discussed cooperation in trade and energy by telephone

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation, focusing on current issues on the bilateral agenda and prospects for developing relations between the countries. The conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side.

During the conversation, according to the Kremlin press service, the parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and the economy. They paid particular attention to energy partnership, where Russia is a major supplier and investor.
The leaders also discussed improving transport links between the countries. The meeting was part of a regular dialogue and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further constructive cooperation.

In turn, the office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported that the parties agreed to continue the dialogue in person. Putin and Pashinyan plan to meet in person "at the earliest convenient opportunity."
