Trade turnover between Georgia and the Russian Federation has decreased significantly

In January of this year, trade turnover between Georgia and the Russian Federation decreased by 28% compared to the same period in 2023. The figure was $190 million.

According to this indicator, Turkey ranks first among Georgia’s largest trading partners - trade turnover is $233 million, the Russian Federation is in second place, and China is in third ($96 million).

In addition, in January the volume of remittances from the Russian Federation to Georgia decreased by 74%. Despite the decline, Russia remains the main source of remittances to Georgia ($67.7 million), followed by Italy ($44.2 million) and the United States ($38 million) in third place.
