The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
The smallest wage gap was recorded in Ingushetia and Chechnya
A Finexpertiza study found a direct correlation between the average salary in a region and the degree of wage inequality. Regions in the North Caucasus deviate from this trend, boasting the smallest national gap between the incomes of the highest and lowest-paid workers.
In Ingushetia, this gap is only 4.1 times (61,200 rubles), while in Chechnya it is 4.3 times (69,800 rubles).
Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia are also among the regions with the smallest wage differentials. In Kabardino-Balkaria, it is 77,600 rubles, and in Karachay-Cherkessia, it is 83,600 rubles.
