The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the completion of the formal steps necessary to launch direct trade operations between Ankara and Yerevan, part of the process of establishing bilateral relations that began in 2022.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan lashed out at the opposition forces, accusing them of lacking independence and dependence on external leadership.
"You've never achieved anything in your lives. Without someone else's orders, you're nothing," he declared, addressing his opponents.
The head of government also warned that political players seeking patrons will ultimately be left without support, as only the people can be "supreme parents" in Armenia.
At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized that the country is on the threshold of a new era. According to him, peace, independence, and sovereignty have been established in Armenia, and the country's future is already open. He also expressed a desire to free the youth from the "historical burden" so that new generations can live freely, focusing on well-being and development.
As a reminder, the election campaign is underway in Armenia ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7. The Central Electoral Commission has registered more than 20 parties and alliances. Nikol Pashinyan previously expressed the opinion that the opposition Strong Armenia party and the Armenia bloc, considered pro-Russian, would not be able to enter parliament.
The day before, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin called the European Political Community summit, held in Yerevan on May 4-5 and attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, "an openly unfriendly step."
"Today, the question has become clear to everyone: how will relations between Yerevan and Moscow develop after Pashinyan's actions? Will our countries be closer or further apart? Will there be less tension in relations or more? Most likely, the latter," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
