Pashinyan welcomed Zelenskyy's visit to Yerevan

At the European Political Community summit in Yerevan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met. They shook hands.

"I greet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy," Pashinyan subsequently wrote on his Telegram channel, accompanying the message with emojis and the flags of both countries.

The Ukrainian leader's visit provoked a reaction from Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan, who called Armenia's actions "ungrateful" in response to the assistance provided by Moscow.

According to the EU Council press service, representatives of 48 states, as well as the heads of state of the European Union, NATO, and the OSCE, are participating in the summit. The agenda included discussions on military and economic security issues, with particular attention paid to future strategy in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

As a reminder, Armenia is a member of the CSTO and the EAEU, but Nikol Pashinyan has previously stated that Yerevan has effectively refused to participate in CSTO events.

Recently, Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan expressed concerns about a planned "political operation aimed at regime change" in Armenia, clearly hinting at Russia's role. He drew parallels between the situation in Ukraine, where, in his view, Russia's interests are being pursued by force, and Armenia, where he believes coup attempts are underway.

Against the backdrop of the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, Armenian authorities have decided to monitor the content of Russian television channels available in the country.
