Regions of IFRS allowed to write off more than half of public debt

The subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District are allowed to write off (restructure) 38 billion rubles of public debt this year. This is more than 50% of the amount (71.5 billion). «But the regions have so far submitted an application for restructuring only half of this amount», - said Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at a government meeting in Kavmnvody.

The state debt of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in 2022 amounted to 71.5 billion rubles. Compared to 2021, it increased by 10 billion rubles. In volume, Stavropol is leading - 29.7 billion rubles (growth amounted to 2.8%), Dagestan - 11.6 billion rubles (+39.8%), North Ossetia - 8.7 billion rubles (+26%).
