Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan warned against the current government's flippant attitude toward possible harsh responses from Moscow. He believes the authorities fail to grasp the scale of the potential impact Russia could have, including tariff revisions and export blockages.
Regions of the North Caucasus Federal District named among the poorest
Ingushetia, North Ossetia, KChR and six other regions failed to reduce the level of poverty in 2022. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers Tatiana Golikova.
The worst indicator is in Ingushetia, where more than 30% of the population officially receive incomes below the subsistence level. In second place is Tyva (28.8%), in third - Karachay-Cherkessia (22%).
In other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, the situation is better, but the poverty rate is still higher than the national average (9.8%). Thus, according to statisticians, in Chechnya the figure is 20%, in Kabardino-Balkaria - 16.4%, in Dagestan - 14.2%.
