The republics of the North Caucasian Federal District are recognized as the poorest regions in Russia

Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia became outsiders in the ranking of regions of the Russian Federation in terms of population income. Here the ratio of average income to the cost of a fixed set of goods and services is 1.1. These are the data of RIA Novosti.

Stavropol Territory took 80th place (1.3), Chechnya - 74th (1.4), North Ossetia - 67th (1.5), Kabardino-Balkaria - 66th (1.5), Dagestan – 48th (1.6).

The leader of the rating was Yamal with an indicator of 3.9. The Nenets Autonomous Okrug was in second place – 3.45. These two regions have been ranked first by a wide margin for many years, which is due to the high salaries of gas and oil workers, as the compilers of the ranking explain.

The all-Russian indicator of the ratio of a person’s average income to the cost of a fixed set of goods and services is 1.9. According to Rosstat, in 2023, real cash incomes of the population increased by 5.6%.
