In 2024, mortgage rates were the highest in Chechnya and Ingushetia
The highest mortgage rates in the Russian Federation in 2024 were recorded in Chechnya and Ingushetia - 14% and 13%, respectively. At the same time, the average level in the country was 8.7%. These figures are published by NewsRu24, citing data from the Central Bank. The figures for Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria also exceeded 10%.

The relatively high level of average mortgage rates in the North Caucasus is associated with a low share of preferential programs and the lack of government support for borrowers and young families. Also, a limited number of banks and developers work with such loans. Finally, the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District are among the outsiders in terms of the official income of residents. As a result, banks refuse to issue long-term loans.
